Elliott Yukari Official Blog “Food & Lifestyle Diary ~ from England~” Powered by Ameba

I also have a lot of friends, but I think my husband is still in touch with his old friends (lol) and has a lot of interaction with them.

I still have the opportunity to meet up with my bad friends from high school.

This time, I drove south as it was a reunion for my friends.

Rye is located in East Sussex and is known for its quaint streets and historic buildings. Rye flourished as a medieval port town and was once a hub for pirates and trading, and is still a tourist destination where you can still feel the remnants of that history.

My husband’s friend’s house is in the suburbs.

Just looking at it makes me feel like I’m in a fairy tale.

Alice in Wonderland, Peter Rabbit, and more will all be there to welcome you. lol lol

The person who greeted me was an uncle who is a friend of my husband. bitter smile

I have fond memories of the couple coming to visit us from England when we were still living in Japan, and enjoying two weeks together.

This happened about 30 years ago.

I am grateful for the opportunity to still be able to meet each other.

The grounds are impossibly large, and they also have a home vegetable garden for their enjoyment.

A variety of garden goods are lined up in the garden shed.

It looks like a wonderful space with so many things crammed into it.

The view from here looks a bit like Japan.

There are houses with thatched roofs in both England and Japan ❤️

In the orchard, apples and pears were in their prime.

The two of them are living in the lovely British countryside.

I make jam and chutney from the apples I harvest.

Everything from here on out is their property.

The couple lives with Grace, a Great Dane, the same breed as the one in the old Scooby-Doo cartoon.

There was also a cute hut in the forest on the premises.

I would like to camp here in the summer. lol

It feels like a fairy lives here.

I looked for it but couldn’t see it. (tears)

How old is the tree next to this hut?

An unimaginably large tree was looking down on us.

A gentle, large tree that makes you feel protected.

I couldn’t help but hug her. ⇦Seriously. lol

In front of this is a rose garden with a fountain. It was a pity that the rose season was already over.

June is said to be the best time to see them, so be sure to come visit us then. I promised ❤️

After that, we toasted with champagne at home, and then we all went to our high school reunion.

The reunion is a mixed-gender event, so spouses are welcome to attend, making it a lively and fun event.

They all knew me when I couldn’t speak English very well (lol), so I’m glad that they still speak English in an easy-to-understand manner. (lol)

I’ve improved a lot, but I enjoy pretending like I was back then.

At night, I returned to the fairy-tale house and slept.

The building was so old that I was a little scared of ghosts. lol lol

I’m glad I was able to sleep without encountering it.

Crumble is a typical British dessert.

Apple is good, but rhubarb is sweet and sour and has many fans!
