Ellen’s Stardust Diner is on the verge of bankruptcy
- Located on the corner of Broadway and 51st Street, Ellen’s Stardust Diner is a restaurant like no other in New York. In addition to its typical 1950s decor, the restaurant is run by a talented team of waiters and waitresses who take turns singing the great classics of Broadway musicals. A real dinner show!
- The coronavirus crisis in New York, however, almost took away the famous restaurant, stunned by rent at the height of the neighborhood and the lack of income. For many months, a sign even hung on the front door, informing passers-by of the restaurant’s financial difficulties. The end seemed inevitable …
New health rules in New York
- And yet, Ellen’s Stardust Diner is reborn! Without giving further details, the restaurant managed to find a solution and here it is again open since October 1, 2020. The servers have resumed service!
- Obviously, like all restaurants in New York, the Ellen’s Stardust Diner must respect the new rules in place in New York to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Customers must therefore submit to taking their temperature at the entrance and the restaurant’s capacity is limited to 25% of its usual capacity. Servers can sing while covering their face with a visor. The most important thing is that the show continues!
