Ellen Demuth, member of the CDU state parliament, member of the SWR Broadcasting Council since this year, was elected as a deputy member of the ARD program advisory board at the most recent public meeting of the Broadcasting Council.
Linz. About the program advisory board: The ARD program advisory board consists of nine members and nine deputy members. The program advisory board meets ten times a year, each lasting a day and a half. It meets four times a year for joint consultations with the television program conference (FPK). So-called workshop discussions are held with the editorial offices of the broadcasting corporations on selected topics. The Advisory Board gives suggestions and recommendations for the further development of the program and for future program design, first of all for Das Erste, but also for the digital TV programs of ARD and for the cooperation programs 3sat, KiKA, PHOENIX and the young offer funk.
Ellen Demuth: I am looking forward to this interesting new job and thank the Broadcasting Council for the trust they have placed in me. I have been a member of the media committee of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament for more than four years and have been able to familiarize myself with this diverse area of responsibility. As a representative of the SWR broadcasting area in the ARD program advisory board, I will make my contribution to accepting suggestions and criticism in the interests of viewers. Together with the program managers, the advisory board has the task of fulfilling the social mandate of public broadcasting, namely to provide high-quality information, education, advice and entertainment.
The range of services offered by ARD is subject to constant change; in addition to television programs, there is a wide range of programs accompanying teletext and the Internet, which is also monitored and evaluated by the program advisory board. I will be happy to face this comprehensive task.
