Ella Leyers gets a leading role in musical ’40-45′ | showbiz

SHOWBIZZAfter a long forced break, the performances of the musical ’40-45′ will restart from mid-October. In addition to the well-known cast, a number of new actors will also make their appearance. Ella Leyers takes on the role of Marie and makes her musical debut. “I am very excited to be part of this cast,” said the actress.

After Daens’ musical performances were resumed earlier this summer, ’40-45′ is now also experiencing its revival in the Studio 100 Pop-Up Theater in Puurs. Due to the high number of performances, the current cast will be alternated with some newcomers. For his role as Staf Segers, Ruben Van Keer will alternate with Jelle Cleymans and Jo Hens. Ella Leyers shares the role of Marie with Line Ellegiers. Ludo Hoogmartens will alternate as Emiel Segers with Peter Van de Velde and Bert Cosemans. Ianthe Tavernier shares her role with Daphne Wellens.

For Ella Leyers it is her musical debut. “When I saw the musical 40-45 for the first time, I was deeply impressed. It is a particularly spectacular performance and the theme continues to intrigue. And that I can now be part of the cast myself is very exciting.” Gert Verhulst is proud of the newcomers. “For a prestigious production like 40-45 you need very good actors for every role. We look forward to unleashing this powerful production on the public again.”

40-45 is set in Antwerp, just after the First World War. Staf and Louis Segers are born with a year difference. They grow up in a warm nest. The brothers are best friends and nothing seems to break their bond. Until the inevitable happens: the Second World War breaks out and that leaves traces in every living room, in every family. Also in the family of Staf and Louis.
