Dunakeszi Diáknegyed Construction Progresses as New Education Complex Takes Shape
The construction of the Dunakeszi Diáknegyed, a new education complex in Hungary, is well underway. The project, led by the West Hungária Bau Kft. and LATEREX Építő Zrt. consortium, began in March last year and is set to be completed on a 13-hectare site with a total area of 123,000 square meters. The complex will consist of seven buildings, including the IV. Béla Király High School with 20 classrooms and the VSZC Lányi Ferenc Technical School and Vocational Training Institute with 26 classrooms. These facilities will be equipped with modern mechanical systems and digital tools. Additionally, each wing of the high school and technical school will be connected to a 2,500 square meter sports hall.
To ensure easy access to the educational complex, a roundabout and connecting road will be built at the entrance of the institution, linking the Klapka Road and the M2 motorway to the 2nd main road. This development will significantly reduce the environmental impact on the school city, which is set to open in the fall of 2024, as well as the surrounding residential area.
During a recent visit to the construction site, Nyul Zoltán, the Deputy State Secretary responsible for high-rise construction projects at the Ministry of Transport, noted the progress of the Dunakeszi Diáknegyed. He emphasized that the project has reached an impressive stage of construction, with the highest point of the structural work being completed last year.
Zoltán also highlighted the significance of the related area development and road construction, stating that the educational complex will give rise to a new city district. The new roundabout, in particular, will seamlessly connect Dunakeszi to the surrounding area. He expressed confidence that the educational complex and the associated sports facilities will be completed in time for the start of the 2024 academic year, serving educational and community purposes.
As part of the project, a new road is being built between the M2 motorway and the 2nd main road, starting from the roundabout at the Diáknegyed. This road will be an integral part of the city, providing external access towards the M2 motorway through the roundabout and the connecting road.
