Elkan Baggott Ipswich Town hasn’t been released yet Indonesian National team. The tall player also missed the trial against East Timor in Bali.
Currently, the Indonesian national team has started the Training Center (TC) in Bali to prepare for the fight against Timor Leste. The international break or FIFA Matchday will be held at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Bali, on January 27 and 30.
Including Elkan Baggott, a total of 27 players were called up by Shin Tae-yong to the Indonesian national team. Meanwhile, Elkan Baggott was the only player from abroad who was called up.
“Most likely Elkan will not be able to attend to join the Indonesian national team,” said Assistant Coach of the Indonesian National Team Nova Arianto to reporters.
Previously, PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan had indicated that he had difficulty calling the English-Indonesian player. Moreover, there is no sign of Elkan Baggott leaving for Indonesia, who has gathered in Bali starting January 19.
“We continue to do clear communication in an effort to communicate with their club (Ipswich Town). Hopefully it can be accommodated and can be approved to join,” said Iriawan.
Even if you follow Elkan Baggott will be constrained by quarantine rules for people coming from abroad. Currently Elkan is also a person who is obliged to quarantine for four-seven days in Indonesia.
The same thing applies to the Timor Leste players who are the opponents of the Indonesian national team. Currently the Timor Leste squad is undergoing quarantine in Jakarta for four days.
After completing the quarantine, Timor Leste can only fly to Bali. Despite the quarantine, Timor Leste is allowed to undergo training in the field.
