Eljas about match five against Frölunda
Published: 2024-03-30 Leksand’s striker Arvid Eljas was back in the team in Saturday’s match against Frölunda. Unfortunately, there was a loss in quarter-final five in Gothenburg.
– It’s just a matter of going home and making sure that this becomes a game seven.
Twenty-year-old Arvid has been on loan to Hockeyallsvenska Mora during the spring. But with some injuries in Leksand’s squad, it was decided to call Arvid home.
– It’s great fun to be back. To meet the teammates, coaches and everyone around the team. But I had hoped for a more fun comeback, says Arvid.-
He played with Martin Karlsson and Jon Knuts today.
– It’s always fun to play with them, but we don’t get the match picture we had the ambition to get, Arvid says disappointedly.
Why is Frölunda winning today?
– Unfortunately, we become too spread out. We have to get better at keeping the team together.
Two important power play goals
Frölunda finally won 5-2 after the last goal in an empty net. Forward Oskar Lang did his best to turn the game around. He scored twice on the power play after also setting up one of the ejections.
– Yes, it was two cruel goals with one more man. Very good finish by Lang where the second goal comes after a nice pass from Patrik (Zackrisson).
Arvid agrees that the goals were important for the team’s confidence in that form of play.
– And Lang’s chain with Kalle Östman and Marcus Karlberg was our best chain today, Arvid thinks.
Learned a lot
Arvid has played ten games with Mora during his loan. And had a more offensive role there than in Leksand.
– It has been developing and given a lot because that role is something I want to work towards in the future in Leksand, says Björbosonen.
Arvid cannot go back to Mora this season due to the loan rules.
In two days, Leksand will have the opportunity to equalize the match series at home.
– We haven’t broken up. We will win on Monday, says Arvid firmly.
