This woman is, in France, the pioneer of A-frame houses and has gathered around her thousands of members on her Facebook group ” The House in A “, and on his channel YouTube. Moreover, owners of A-frame houses all cite the same source of inspiration: Elizabeth Faureformer architect who built her own A-frame housewith an initial budget of €40,000! In 2013, the septuagenarian, a retired architect, had a budget of €40,000 to build a house. She then moved to Lusignac with the idea of building her house in an A-frame. However, she clarified in an interview with the newspaper Nice Morningthat she has not ” nothing invented, the A-frame house has existed since the dawn of time. And, she is right since the A-frame house is similar to primitive huts and tents, adopted by various cultures around the world, including Native Americans, Scandinavians and Japanese. These houses with a particular style havea roof whose slopes descend to the ground. Elizabeth Faure describes her house as “a giant Toblerone”! With plans in mind, let’s not forget that she is an architect, so she sets about building her little nest, hammering home that it is a solution for those who cannot take out a mortgage.

With her budget of €40,000 and an unwavering determination, she built in three months, with the help of a few friends, the base of her A-frame house: 180 m² of surface area! On social networks, the house ofElizabeth Faure is starting to create a buzz, and visitors are coming to the construction site, to get advice, or simply out of curiosity. In 2020, she meets Morgane Launay, documentary filmmaker, interested in the septuagenarian’s project. Since thousands of visitors come to Lusignac, Morgane suggests that she create a documentary, as well as a YouTube channel on which she shares her advice and tips. 2020, remember, is the year of confinement, an uncertain future, and some financial difficulties for many people. The YouTube channel is a hit. She explains: ” It created a monumental buzz. I had visitors to my house every day non-stop for several months.” At first, the owner welcomes them all, but her YouTube channel, and the documentary created by her friend Morgane, will offer her a little peace and quiet!
