elite series, Football | Vålerenga offers Martin Linne’s contract

Martin Linnes (29) is without a club after his contract with Galatasaray expired this summer.

As far as Nettavisen is aware, Vålerenga has submitted a contract proposal to Linnes and is now waiting for a response from the national team defender.

The former Molde player’s contract with Galatasaray expired on July 1, and he is thus free to sign with a new club.

VIF: – Very interested

Sports manager in Vålerenga Jørgen Ingebrigtsen says that Linnes is a player the Oslo club would like to think of.

– Martin Linnes is very exciting for many Norwegian clubs, if he is available. We would have been very interested in it, if it had been possible. The player must answer for himself. I do not know what he thinks next, says Ingebrigtsen to Nettavisen.

However, he denies that Vålerenga has made a concrete offer to the 29-year-old.

Linnes’ agent Jim Solbakken did not respond to Nettavisen’s inquiry on Wednesday.

Hunting for replacements for Myhre and Adekugbe

Vålerenga has lost Felix Horn Myhre to Brann and Sam Adekugbe travels to Hatayspor in Turkey this summer. Ingebrigtsen is aware that the Oslo club is looking for replacements.

– We have lost Felix (Horn Myhre) who was cover on both slopes, and Adekugbe travels on 1 August. We have two young boys as third and fourth choice in stopper position, so we have to bring in one to two new defenders during the window, says Ingebrigtsen.

Martin Linnes is twice league champion and cup champion with Galatasaray since the transfer from Molde in 2016.

He has 29 matches for the Norwegian national team under his belt and was most recently in action for Norway in the international matches against Gibraltar and Montenegro in March.
