It is the most shameful stain in the elite school’s 53-year history
Several 16-year-old teenagers are about to put the most shameful stain on the half-century history of the “Geo Milev” English High School in Burgas. The story that reached Flagman.bg is shocking and largely dispels the myth that the city’s intellectual elite grows in this school.
“The Geography Teacher **(with two names indicated, which Flagman.bg will keep secret in order to preserve the teacher’s authority, b.r.) beat up a student. Slap him in front of a bunch of his classmates and humiliate him in public. This man does not deserve to teach, he should go to prison.’ This was one of the alerts that was sent to our editorial office in the last two days.
In fact, through the “Your signal to Flagman.bg” platform, we received at least 10 similar messages. They told how last week, after the end of classes, a teacher attacked a 10th grade student for no reason. He beat him unceremoniously and went home.
A Flagman.bg reporter did a thorough check. The management of the high school, as well as the RU of the Ministry of Education and Culture in Burgas, were informed of the incident. Due to the delicate nature of the case, there is no official information, but a serious amount of work has already been done, dozens of students have been questioned, and an explanation has been taken from the teacher.
What happened on February 15 of this year:
Year 10 pupils at the elite school attended by the children of the region’s politicians, public figures and businessmen were angry at their geography teacher, who they said had undeservedly burdened them with a very difficult test in which they got poor grades . Instead of taking notes and sleeping over the lessons, the teenagers decided to scare their teacher after class. During one of the breaks, at least 10 boys gathered in the toilet and arranged to attack the strict teacher. They decided to wait for him, to warn him and, if necessary, to beat him.
After the last class, the teacher, who has been working at AEG “Geo Milev” for 5 years, took the road to his home. Almost at the exit of the school, he was met by the students, who aggressively decided to ask him for an account of the difficult tests, in their opinion.
And here the story diverges slightly. The majority of the interrogated boys confirm that they had a prior plan to beat up the teacher and claim that he also retaliated with aggression – he slapped one of them. The teacher himself, however, denies that he ever molested anyone. According to him, all he did was raise his voice.
However, the incident does not end there. A few days later, the mother of one of the boys reported that her child had been beaten by the geography teacher. No medical was attached to the complaint, only allegations that her son had been hit. An inspection was appointed, which, even at this point, destroys the case in order to arrive at the objective truth. To date, none of the versions has been confirmed, no recordings from the video cameras in the area of the elite school have been taken down, and there are still many open questions. The fact is, however, that the teacher took responsibility for asking the tenth graders to demonstrate knowledge and skills, and they had a vendetta against him outside the school.
On one side stands the teacher with an impeccable reputation, and on the other – a group of boys who more than once caused problems in the elite school, and did not shine with special knowledge of geography, quite like Black Gold.
And the results of the great educational reform that we have all been waiting for decades are obvious. Nowadays, being a teacher and demanding from students good discipline and diligence in class is apparently very complicated and even borders on the world of illusions. Either you’ll have to go to work in at least battlefield gear – armor, mail and a shield – or some mother will pop up who trusts her child without question and is ready to slander you in public with a few embellished signals.
One of the last such striking cases was at the elite French high school “Alphonse de Lamartine” in Sofia, and his mother refused to appear after a call from the director /SEE HERE/.
And if the reforms continue in the same spirit, more than one or two such reports await us…
