Lebanese artist Elissa spoke about the idea of motherhood and childbirth.
Elissa said, while she was a guest in a panel discussion with the Hia Hub platform in Riyadh: “This means that a woman who does not have a child is considered deficient, or a man who does not have a child is considered deficient.”
Elissa added: “The greatest role a woman plays is a mother, and if she is a mother, she is a wife and a friend, and more than motherhood.”
She continued: “If we talk about femininity or people who bring children, I hate this word, and I refuse to hear it, that the mother must bring children to your sister.”
She concluded: “Why did you see a boy sitting with his family when he grew up? The boy is not a support.”
It is noteworthy that Elissa recently released her latest song entitled “The Contract,” written by the poet Ayman Bahjat Qamar. She also performed a concert last June in Alexandria in the presence of a large audience.
