The artistic event, promoted by dancer Elisa Carrillo, will take place from today until August 14 with more than 50 activities such as workshops, video dances, master classes and exhibitions.
On the purpose of bringing Danzatlán to a sector that is not close to the discipline, Elisa Carrillo explained in a conference: Our goal is to grow and bring dance to different parts of the country. The paths have been positive in approaching the new governments; I have faith that art will continue to be supported.
.
As part of the festival, the premiere will take place Soul in motion, New production by the Elisa Carrillo Cabrera Foundation, where the Lebanese-Mexican pianist Simón Ghraichy will accompany the 2019 Benois Dance Prize winner and ballet stars Alexei Orlenco, Krasina Pavlova and Mikhail Kaniskin.
This show, which fuses piano and neoclassical and contemporary dance, will be performed on August 8 at the Elisa Carrillo concert hall of the Centro Cultural Mexiquense Bicentenario (CCMB) in Texcoco, and on August 14 it will be performed at the main hall of the Palacio de Bellas Artes.
After a few years I will return to dance in this great venue, alongside extraordinary international artists. The soul of this show is the language of dance and music that come together on stage.
shared the first dancer, originally from Texcoco.
The public attending the show Soul in motion will appreciate works such as The park, by Angelin Preljocaj, o The death of the swan, by Mauro Di Candia, which will be mixed with the notes of the Danzon No. 2, by Arturo Márquez, or the Piano Concerto Adagio No. 23 in A major, by Wolfgang A. Mozart.
The piano, another star
Carrillo said that at different stages of his career he has already collaborated with choreographers Angelin Preljocaj, Mauro Bigonzetti and Mauro di Candia, and he learned their most famous duets; he added that Armenian choreographer Arshak Ghalumyan, with whom he worked in Germany, created the new part of Soul in motion.
I am very happy with this project. The piano is something that is part of my daily life; ballet classes are always with piano music, and this year I wanted it to be the star part of the show.
added the dancer.
