European cultural life is gradually returning to normal. The Elba Philharmonic has resumed the concert season in Hamburg after five months of inactivity, and on the evening of September 4 with the participation of Latvian opera singer Elīna Garanča season will open the world-famous Milan Opera House La Scala. –

On the evening of September 4, Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem for soloists, choir and orchestra will be performed at the opening concert of the opera house under the direction of conductor Ricardo Shaili in the Cathedral of Milan. Along with Latvian mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča, the Bulgarian soprano Krasimira Stojanova, Italian tenor Francesco Meli and German bass René Pape will also sing in the concert. The opening concert of the La Scala season will also be a musical tribute to all Covid-19 victims.

The opening ceremony of the Elbe Philharmonic season was held in Hamburg, Germany, in accordance with security measures and physical distance. Prokofiev and Brahms performed by the Elba Philharmonic and Georgian violinist Lisa Batiashvili under the direction of conductor Alan Gilbert. The concert literally took place in a half-empty hall, as out of two thousand seats, for safety reasons, spectators were only allowed to fill 620 seats.
