Bright concerts are expected at the Latvian National Opera in November and December – outstanding Austrian bass Ginters Groisbeks will give a solo concert on November 30, world-famous mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča’s solo concert on December 16, and traditional anniversary concerts at the end of the year.

On November 30, for the first time in Latvia, a solo concert will be given by one of the most outstanding basses in the world, Günther Groissböck. The concert, accompanied by pianist Aleksandra Golubicka’s piano, will take place in the Great Hall with the iron curtain lowered, providing unique acoustics for chamber music.

Austrian bass Günter Groisbeck is a regular guest at the world’s leading opera houses in New York, Milan, Munich, Vienna, Paris, Berlin and elsewhere, and has performed successfully at festivals in Salzburg and Bayreuth. His repertoire includes leading bass parties in operas by Wagner, Verdi, Mozart, Strauss and other composers. The singer also actively performs in the world’s most important concert halls.
