Elias Lindholm’s time in the Calgary Flames is over.
Last night, the Swedish center was traded to the Vancouver Canucks.

With an expiring contract, Elias Lindholm’s stay or not stay with the Calgary Flames has been a constant during the NHL season. During the night of Thursday, Swedish time, Lindholm was traded to the Vancouver Canucks.
– We make our team much better by strengthening with Elias. He has proven that he can go first and will give Rick Tocchet (head coach of the Canucks) more opportunities to put his two top chains together, Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin told the club’s website.
Traded against three players and two draft picks
Lindholm is traded to the Canucks in exchange for forward Andrej Kuzmenko and promises Hunter Brzustewicz and Juni Jurmo. In addition, Calgary also receives the Canucks’ first-round pick in this summer’s NHL draft and a conditional fourth-round pick in this summer’s draft.
The 29-year-old Swede has played in the Calgary Flames since 2018, when he was traded to the club from the Carolina Hurricanes. As recently as the 2021/22 season, he produced 82 points in 82 games for the Flames and this season he has tallied 32 points in 49 games.
Lindholm’s contract, which has a salary cap hit of $4.85 million, expires in the summer.
