An-Nahar writer Elias Al-Dairi, known as “Zian,” passed away at the age of 86.
It is noteworthy that Elias Al-Dairi is a Lebanese writer, journalist, and politician, born in the village of Deddah – Koura. His novel “The Dead Knight Dismounts” was ranked 101 in the list of the best Arab novels by the Arab Writers Union in 2001. He is a member of the Lebanese Press Editors Syndicate and a member of the Story Club since the year 1960. His son Fadi mourned him, writing: “I called out to God, return without looking towards me. May God have mercy on you, my father, Elias Girgis Al-Dayri, the maker of leaders. Christ has risen, truly He has risen.”
