On Salary Day, October 9, 2021 at 17.00 In the White Hall of the Riga Latvian Society (RLB), the RLB Senior Choir “eReLBe” invites to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Latvian stage “pioneer” Elga Īgenbergs.
The concert will delight the audience with the RLB Senior Choir “eReLBe”, the ensemble “Cretan Fresco”, Jānis Kurševs (tenor) and the accompanying group led by Ansis Klučs. Concert master Māris Žagars, the concert will be conducted by the choir’s artistic director Zaiga Lazdiņa-Radziņa.
Visitors to the concert will be introduced to a selection of the most beautiful songs by Elga Īgenberga performed by the choir “Erelbe”. Elga Īgenberga has dedicated a special composition to the singers “You Only Sing”, which, along with many other compositions by the composer, will be performed at the October 9 concert at the Riga Latvian Society.
The aim of the concert dedicated to Elga Igenberg’s work is to introduce younger listeners, as well as to recall the lyrical compositions of the outstanding composer, to highlight the heartfelt songs that allow you to immerse yourself in light sentiment, to turn over everyday problems with a bright view.
The singers of the RLB Senior Choir “EReLBe” are those who, under the direction of conductor Ārija Šķepasts, created and from May 1, 1999 participated in Elga Īgenbergs song program “Tonight I Want to Dream”. The concertmaster was the author herself. Many of the songs sung at that time have remained in the choir’s “golden” repertoire, but this year, in honor of the authors’ 100th anniversary, a new program has been prepared. The choir has received high marks in shows and competitions. He has won Gold and Silver diplomas at the World Choir Olympiad, and won a Silver Medal at the European Choir Olympiad. At the 2017 Choir Show, the eReLBe Choir received the highest rating in its group and the highest category.
