The Champlain Towers South in Surfside, near Miami, collapsed Thursday. The cause is still being sought. The drama has already killed 11 people, but the fear is that this number will rise.

Of the 11 victims, 8 have now been identified. Among them is a couple who had been married for 60 years and the mother of a teenager who survived the drama.
The building from 1981, right on the coast, collapsed half like a house of cards. This can be seen in these images:

Still rescue operation
At least 150 people are still missing, according to the mayor of the town of Surfside, Daniella Levine Cava. Their bodies are probably still under the rubble.
Days after the disaster, the search still counts as a ‘rescue’, but the chance of survivors is slim. No one has been rescued alive from the rubble since a few hours after the collapse, the AP news agency reported.

Photos of victims and missing persons hang at the crash site, as can be seen in a photo shared by a reporter on the spot:

Keep looking
It is also a dangerous operation for rescuers. They work in a mountain of rubble that is very unstable, says the mayor. On Sunday, one of the rescuers plunged about 7.5 meters down.
Mayor Daniella Levine Cava promises the search for the missing will continue as long as opportunities remain. The rubble is searched 24 hours a day.
