With the eleventh edition of Port of Parole a Salerno from 26 May to 1 June 2024 the “Worlds” of different narratives will be explored. This year’s idea is to propose experiences to live and share with friends, parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters but also simply with those who indulge in curiosity. For seven days the St. Joseph Pastoral Center (via Guido Vestuti) will be transformed into the only large island of different narratives to host the format conceived and created by Cooperativa We will be Alberi with the support ofArea S5 Salerno-Pellezzanothe Municipality of Salerno, the Città del Futuro Foundation and the Municipality of Olevano Sul Tusciano and in collaboration with Nuovi Scalzi, Ciccio Pasticcio, the Centro Pastorale San Giuseppe, Domeniche ad Arte, Nati per Leggere, the Centro per il Libro e la Lettura, il Maggio dei Libri, Oro Nera Caffè and Centrale del Latte.
It begins on May 26that 10.30 am, with a preview in the park of the Archaeological Area of Fratte as part of the exhibition “Sundays for Art”. A beginning in the name of history: the site “tells” the origins of the first inhabited nucleus, from the 6th century BC Fratte has been continuously inhabited, as evidenced by the remains of ancient buildings of Etruscan origin still visible today. And right within the walls of ancient Salerno the illustrated book “Maestro Albero” will be presented with Rebecca Rossi and Manuela Simoncelli. The reading show will be accompanied by the percussion of Francesco Fasanaro and the flute chamber orchestra with the participation of the transverse flute students of the IC “T. Tasso” of Salerno in collaboration with the MusiCantArte Cultural Association of Salerno, directed by maestro Giuseppe Ler.
Monday 27 May from 9 to 12 at the San Giuseppe Pastoral Center there will be the first appointment on the calendar, reserved for boys and girls from nursery school with the show by and with Ciccio Pasticcio, “Alla Scuola di Merlino”. Followed by meetings with Micole Imperiali, author of the illustrated book Punzecchio, Vanessa Policicchio Rizzoli, author of the illustrated book “A pig with polka dots” and the Ciccio Pasticcio Band.
Tuesday 28 May, from 9 to 12, the girls and boys of primary school will meet at the San Giuseppe Pastoral Center: Prototeatro Società Cooperativa proposes “The Intrepida Avventura di Magrolon e Centochiliepassa”, a show on food education. Followed by workshops with Ciccio Pasticcio Band, Olga Mascolo and Michele Neri. From 7pm at Lido Balnea (Colombo seafront beach in Mercatello) appointment at sunset with the storytellers. Writers, illustrators, artists, volunteers, meet young and old to tell stories, offering readings aloud for a “dream” evening.
Wednesday 29 May, from 3.30pm to 6.30pm, second day for primary school with “L’Intrepida Avventura di Magrolon e Centochiliepassa”, from 9am to 12pm, and workshops with Ciccio Pasticcio Band, Olga Mascolo, Michele Neri and Antonia Grimaldi, author of the book Fiabola . At 3.30 pm the seminar open to teachers, trainers and parents, “Narrating to build: STEM, multilingualism and new languages”. The seminar aims to make people reflect on the importance of narrative practices in the field of pedagogy and teaching. Narration is investigated as an instrument of self-knowledge, a didactic practice for the construction of knowledge, inside and outside the school context, but also as a driving force of a community that in all its parts wants to be educational.
Thursday 30 May it starts at 9 am with the girls and boys of the lower secondary school. Two shows are scheduled: Officina Prometeo (a Divisoperzero / Florian Metateatro production by and with Francesco Picciotti), starting from the myth of Prometheus, a special narrator tells how all animals were invented, including man; The Art of Masks (production I Nuovi Scalzi, by Savino Italiano with Francesco Ippolito and Savino Italiano), a fun and surreal journey, where the audience is taken into the colorful and overwhelming world of the Commedia dell’Arte. From 6pm to 10pm, the Half White Night of Stories and the Narrative Islands with storytellers who meet young readers. There are four shows scheduled: from 6pm “Brigitte et le petit bal perdu” by and with Nadia Addis, for children, teenagers and adults; “King Charlemagne’s Nap” for adults and children aged 3 and up, narrated by storyteller Michele Neri; the meeting with Caterina Ballabio, author of DECAPP, for adults and children aged 12 and over; Officina Prometeo (a Divisoperzero / Florian Metateatro production by and with Francesco Picciotti), for adults and children aged 5 and over. At 8.45pm Lorenzo Baglioni will take to the stage of the Centro Pastorale San Giuseppe to talk about his experience as a mathematician lending to the show, also using his original songs.
Friday 31 May, from 9 to 12, the students of secondary schools will occupy the stalls of the theater in via Guido Vestuti. For them Porto di Parole has thought of the “Talk Azz” formula between music, stories and meetings which will see Don Roberto Faccenda and the actor Francesco Montanari as protagonists. A light-hearted talk in which we will discover the memories and dreams, the past and the future of one of the most beloved protagonists in the world of cinema, theater and TV. The afternoon starts at 6pm with the Half White Night of Stories, the Narrative Islands and the great adventures of a fantastic traveler who never left “Let’s sail around the world” by and with Michele Negri. At 6.30 pm reading show with Francesco Montanari, for adults and children aged 12 and over; at 7.30 pm the magical-mic and interactive show inviting reading “A witch in the library” by and with Emanuela Belmonte and Nora Picetti, and “The City and the dragon” by the La Ribalta Theater Company which takes up the tale told by Gek Tessaro, developing it to the scene. At 8pm the Unterwasser Company for children aged 5 and above proposes “Out” by and with Valeria Bianchi, Aurora Buzzetti and Giulia De Canio, an original coming-of-age fairy tale told through the imaginative and figurative language of puppet theatre. Closing the day at 9pm Bomb Voyage, the show by the Giro di Vite Company, directed by Claudio De Maglio, produced by the “Nico Pepe” Academy of Dramatic Arts (Udine) with Simone Debenedetti, Giacomo Andrea Faroldi, Cristina Greco, Francesco Ippolito and Pietro McDonald. Between jokes, evil affairs, love and witchcraft, five characters take the stage of the Commedia dell’Arte.
Saturday 1st June, at 10.30 am, appointment dedicated to children and young people with autism spectrum disorders Workshop with Stalker Teatro Prospero performance by Stalker Teatro. The Half White Night of Stories and the Narrative Islands return from 6pm to 10pm; from 6pm reading space “With an open book and an open heart!” for families with girls and boys aged 0-6 years by the Born to Read Campania Volunteers. Shared readings. At 6.30pm “Prospero” by Stalker Teatro, the evolving performative installation that puts collaboration and community at center stage. From 7pm “Cavoli a snack”, the narrations of the storyteller Michele Neri; from 7.30pm to 8.30pm Le Radiose present “Grammophon on line set” by and with Emanuela Belmonte: varied gramophone experiences offer the public a selection of 78 rpm records worthy of grandmother’s attic rigorously reproduced by two marvels of mechanics, two original suitcase gramophones of the thirties. At 8pm “Surprise in harmony” with the “Il Calicanto” Youth Choir; the Compagnia Sosta Palmizi/I Nuovi Scalzi, at 9pm, presents “PerAria”, from an idea by Olga Mascolo, the show explores, in its choreographic research, the imagery linked to atmospheric and physical phenomena connected to the air (choreographies and scenic creation Giorgio Rossi – performers Savino Maria Italiano, Verdiana Gelao with Anna Di Bari – dramaturgy and original texts Savino Maria Italiano – music Livio Minafra). At 10pm “Goodnight Worlds!”, a special goodbye told by the Porto di Parole Company.
