Eleven Restaurant Review: Nordic Wolffish and Live R&B in Loughlinstown, Dublin 18

Looking for a unique dish to try? Look no further than Eleven in Loughlinstown, Dublin 18. This newly opened restaurant, located above Whelehans Wines, serves up Nordic wolffish, a deep-sea dweller that feasts on crustaceans and is known by many names, including devil fish, sea cat, woof fish, and more. Don’t let its sharp teeth and scary appearance deter you. At Eleven, it’s served as a fillet with beurre blanc sauce, and pairs perfectly with a side of skinny chips.

But Nordic wolffish isn’t the only draw of this trendy spot. Led by experienced restaurateur John Farrell, Eleven offers a wood-burning grill menu and signature cocktails that keep customers coming back. The decor includes a zinc-topped bar, brooding oxblood walls, and touches of space-themed decor to play up the restaurant’s association with Apollo 11.

Diners can choose from six starters and seven main courses, with options for sharing plates as well. Don’t miss the gold seared scallops in a foamy prawn bisque sauce or the ceviche-style Hamachi, served with orange crumb granita, ginger, and red chilli.

Service is top-notch, with a team led by Sam Harding, a familiar face from Farrell’s other restaurants, including Luna. And don’t miss the note on the bill encouraging customers to leave a tip directly for the staff.

With prices in the €€€ range, Eleven is perfect for a special occasion or night out with friends. Just make sure you come hungry and with a taste for something a little different.
