At Paris-Saint-Germain there is chaos again before the start of the season. On the one hand, several players should have to leave the club, on the other hand, they are flirting with the arrival of the next big superstar: Cristiano Ronaldo.
Like the French newspaper “The Parsian” reported, should be mucked out at Paris Saint-Germain. The new head coach Christophe Galtier announced when he took office that he wanted to downsize the squad. It doesn’t make players happy if they end up practically not on the pitch.
That is one of the reasons why the club wants to part with eleven players. There are big names on the hit list: Abdou Diallo, Idrissa Gueye, Layvin Kurzawa, Dina Ebimbe, Thilo Kehrer, Julian Draxler, Leandro Paredes, Mauro Icardi, Danilo Peirera, Ander Herrera and Georginio Wijnaldum.
If these professionals are actually all gone at the start of the season, PSG has burned a lot of money. The total transfer fee paid for Kurzawa, Diallo, Kehrer, Paredes, Pereira, Gueye, Draxler and Icardi was 280 million euros. Herrera and Wijnaldum (both free transfers) and homegrown Ebimbe were still cheap.
But money is only a means to an end for the club, which is supported by Qatari money. So far, however, the investments have remained unsuccessful, and the desired triumph in the premier class has never been achieved.
Portugal is already very popular with PSG

So far, the big transfer offensive has failed to materialize. Left-back Nuno Mendes has been taken on permanently by the Parisians for 40 million euros, while midfielder Vitinha has also been brought in from Porto for the same sum. However, such completion reports are not what the fans hungry for success imagine. There should be more joy in the French capital when Renato Sanches comes. The Lille professional was already halfway to Milan, now the 24-year-old has apparently changed his mind. In Paris, Sanches should bring the combative touch to the headquarters – certainly not a bad idea. Galtier also wants to bring Khéphren Thuram with him from Nice, the 21-year-old French U21 international is also at home in defensive midfield.
However, the Portugal faction could become even larger. As Portuguese transfer expert Pedro Almeida reports, there is contact between Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes and the French champions. Accordingly, both sides are said to have talked about a possible change.

Four super stars as concentrated offensive power

It would be the dream of many football fans to see the two greatest footballers of the last two decades play together in one team. Flanked by the congenial Neymar and child prodigy Kylian Mbappé.
37-year-old Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester United this summer, partly because the club failed to qualify for the Champions League. Of course, it would be sacrilege for the ambitious superstar if he, of all people, was called «Mr. Champions League» would be missing in the coming season. CR7 is also said to have been offered to Bayern Munich and Chelsea. While the German record champions showed no interest, the “Blues” apparently made an offer. But PSG’s star squad is one step higher.
For the five-time world footballer, it would be the sixth club in his long career and, after Portugal, England, Spain and Italy, with France, the next country he honors with his presence.
A few weeks ago, club boss Nasser Al-Khelaifi emphasized that realism had to come in. “We don’t want any more bright, bling-bling, that’s the end of glitter.” But the controversial Katari also stated: “We want players who love the club, who love to fight, who love to win.” Ronaldo stands for “bling-bling” on the one hand, but also for an unbroken winning mentality on the other.
Galtier himself calls for “absolute team spirit”. “There will be no player who is above the team,” said the 55-year-old. “My goal is for this pool of talent to become a great team with great strength.” Maybe Galtier will soon get another talented piece of the puzzle called the CR7, which he can build.
This is what PSG could look like with Ronaldo & Sanches
