Eleven people were injured in a traffic accident in the Brabant village of Sint Willebrord. Ten of them were taken to hospitals by ambulance.
Four cars were involved in the accident. One of them turned off at an intersection around 7:10 p.m. A second car, traveling in the same direction, tried in vain to swerve but was unable to avoid a collision. Two oncoming cars then collided with the first two cars.
The condition of the ten injured people who were taken away by ambulance has not been released. The eleventh injured man was able to go home on his own.
The police are investigating the cause of the accident. A recovery company has towed the four cars.
