Eleven infected in outbreaks in Stjørdal – have been to gyms

The case is being updated.

Over 70 young people are connected outbreaks in Stjørdal after several parties at Easter. The infection traces in Stjørdal have now linked eleven cases of infection to the outbreak.

– We have found four infected on quick tests today. In addition, someone who has traveled home after Easter has tested positive in their home municipality. With the infected from yesterday, eleven infected have now been found in the outbreak, of which ten belong in Stjørdal, the municipality writes in a press release on Friday night.

They state that on Friday night they ensure contact with the last close contacts to be tested on Saturday.

A total of twelve cases of infection have been detected in the municipality this week.

Visited gyms

– Several of the infected have been frequent guests at two gyms in Stjørdal the last week as well. Many have therefore received an SMS and been recommended to test themselves because they have been there at the same time, the municipality writes.

The municipality lacks Friday night test results on tests taken by close contacts on Thursday night and Friday. They therefore expect the number of infections to rise over the weekend.

– We will hopefully know more tomorrow, then we will get answers from tests on Thursday and Friday, writes assistant municipal director, Tore Rømo, in a message to Adresseavisen.

Municipal chief physician Leif Edvard Muruvik Vonen writes in a message to Adresseavisen that the municipality is still getting new close contacts that were forgotten at the first review of Easter.

– The team makes a huge effort and are just as steady with a good mood, Vonen writes about the infection traces in the municipality.
