Eleven fishermen caught on the island

High water levels caught eleven fishermen on an island in Orkla in Trøndelag.

– There are eleven people plus a dog. This morning the weather was good, and then they drove out to an islet in the middle of the river, says operations manager in Trøndelag, Christopher White.

During the day, however, it has rained heavily, which has made it impossible to drive back to land.

– The emergency services are working on the case, White says.

At 10.30 pm, the rescue helicopter was in the process of transporting the fishermen ashore.
