“There is a possibility that the equipment purchased for the Belene NPP cannot be used not only because of the sanctions against Russia, but also because the chief designer of this equipment will not give consent, guarantees and a license for its suitability.”
This was said by the Deputy Minister of Energy Elenko Bozhkov before BNT.

“You see what kind of country we are for the Russian side and Rosatom – we are an adversary country for them,” Bozhkov pointed out.
“President Radev was right to ask for derogations on equipment for the nuclear power plant, which cannot be produced and delivered, but cannot be replaced by something else,” emphasized the expert.
“We are in the process of preparing a document with which we will request a derogation for such spare parts for such equipment,” explained Bozhkov.

“I asked for information about exactly what these parts are, it turned out that they are 41 products – spare parts, consulting services, and software, and 8 products that are manufactured by Ukrainian companies, but for one reason or another cannot be delivered” , added Bozhkov.
There is a promise that Bulgaria will receive a derogation regarding supplies, the deputy minister also said.
