A simple human apology would have done her a thousand times over

The abuse of her child’s death, as well as of her husband’s illness, was terribly shameful—this deliberate abuse was entirely beyond normal human sensibility.
And her compulsive aggressiveness has certainly scraped away the last vestiges of compassion in the audience.

Poptodorova complained about the “insidious cruelty” shown to her.
But she, in turn, showed it to the viewers.
The facts were belittled by the whirlwind of aggressiveness: the affair was not a topic for Bulgaria /?!/; the cream was not a Bulgarian product – it was some kind of 50-gram jar; the goods were returned – and unused; apologized etc.
And, at the end of the day, what was the meaning of some cream compared to the 10 billion dollars stolen in Bulgaria – from whom, it never became clear.
This was to be Poptodorova’s most serious argument.
You have to be completely obsessed with your fears to make such schizophrenic parallels.

Poptodorova’s approach was completely wrong – to hysterically and threateningly justify the incident.
And by the way, through elements of self-heroization.
For example, she knew very well what the security measures were at airports – she was carrying confidential documents for Hezbollah?!
And foreign diplomats asked her if she had crossed anyone’s interests.
“Yes” was the answer.
It had harmed the interests of people who were trying to gain legitimacy before the American authorities.

After all the hysteria, one simple question did not receive an answer: why did Poptodorova not call Sofia upon her arrival to report her mistake, but waited for three whole days – so that she would be captured and humiliated upon her return to Warsaw.
