Maria went to a psychologist for three days in a row because of a quarrel with her mother.
Ukrainian actress and presenter Elena Kravets launched a new YouTube show called “We’ll Talk at Home,” which she hosts with her eldest daughter Maria.
In the first episode of the relatives’ family podcast played in an impromptu “game of truth.” Mom and daughter talked about everything they had long wanted to know about each other, but were always afraid to ask.
So, during the conversation, Elena Kravets asked her daughter if she had any question for her mother, or their relationship since childhood, which she could take to a psychotherapist. At the same time, Kravets remembered the story when her daughter first told her a lie. Then the girl was 13 years old.
Maria, in turn, asked her mother not to go into details of this story, but noted that the situation was painful for her. Kravets noted that she was very hurt that her daughter lied to her:
“And I’m like: “Masha, I don’t think I deserve it!” Why did you offend me? You could have told the truth!” I, in short, went crazy. I was in such shock. I go to my therapist. I say: “This is crap. I expected anything, but for her to lie to me! She doesn’t live in a system of restrictions, I don’t hold her in mittens.” He looks at me like this: “Len, have you ever lied to your mother?” She told what the situation was from her point of view.
Masha shared that she was very hurt by one phrase from her mother, after which she walked away for a long time and even worked on this with a specialist:
“Then you told me a phrase that I had undermined your trust. I came with this phrase to a psychologist. It stuck with me. My psychologist at school asks: “What did she tell you, can you tell me?” I say: “Of course.” it was imprinted in my memory.” I left for a very long time. I went to the school psychologist for about three days in a row. She said that this phrase was very, very painful for a child. That’s what brought me down,” Maria recalled.
In turn, Elena Kravets apologized to her daughter and noted that she did not understand why she reacted so emotionally then: “Something came over me. These were already small children, I wouldn’t react like that now,” Kravets is sure.
