PRAGUE A group of middle-aged guys decides to do crazy tasks. Martin Pechlát, David Švehlík, Hynek Čermák and Martin Hofmann will star in the films Prvok, Šampón, Tečka and Karel. The film will head to Czech cinemas on December 24.
Patrik Hartl made the film himself according to his own book. “I am just happy. I have an acting cast of dreams. The boys are crammed with talent. We’ve known each other for years, so I know very well what they can do. I’m really looking forward to their performances. Until we started filming, I was still worried that we would be able to put them together, “said Hartl.
In the story of Protoc, Shampoo, Dot and Karel, four friends admit that 20 years after graduation they do not live as they imagined when they were eighteen. And they decide to do something about it. “The film will be about friendship. And also about how hard it is sometimes not to cheat. Not only his wife or best friend, but also himself, “the director explained.
Patrik Hartl also wrote the screenplay for the film version and prepared several changes compared to the novel. A few surprises await book lovers.
Book Element, Shampoo, Dot and Charles it was published in 2012 and, thanks to its popularity with readers, it received several reprints. Hartl’s plays, which he wrote and realized at the Studio DVA theater in Prague, are also a great success.
Forty-three-year-old Hartl studied film and television directing at the Prague FAMU. He is the main author and director of the Prague theater Studio DVA, he also works on other stages such as the Viola Theater or the Theater in Celetná.
