Electricity supplier Ecopower is temporarily no longer taking on new customers

Electricity supplier Ecopower will no longer be taking on new customers in the coming weeks. It does this to be able to process the “huge influx of new contract applications”, according to the cooperative’s website. “The contract freeze should offer us the opportunity to process the huge influx of new contract applications and to guarantee the quality of our services,” it sounds.

According to the public broadcaster VRT, after the bankruptcy of the Flemish energy supplier and the termination of Watz, Ecopower received more than 3,000 contracts from new customers in a few weeks. And now that the Flemish energy regulator Vreg has renewed its price comparator V-test, the company expects even more requests. “Ecopower has a rather favorable price in the V-test and that ensures a new influx, especially in the current market situation,” said spokeswoman Margot Vingerhoedt to the VRT.

Ecopower will review at the end of January when it will welcome new customers and additional connections. Existing customers who move will still be helped.
