– Many ordinary incomes are hit hard
Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre (Labor Party) promises to clarify before Christmas which schemes will apply to those who have problems paying the electricity bill.
– It is a situation that affects many people. This is a situation we have not had in 25 years. Now we will provide help to those who are particularly hard hit, says Støre TV 2.
Over the weekend, the government has worked intensely to put in place concrete measures. The housing allowance has already been increased, and it may be relevant to increase it further, says Støre. But he can not guarantee that the money will come before Christmas.
– The housing allowance is a scheme you apply for by the end of the month, and then you get it paid out the following month. So just when the money comes, I can not clarify. But security that the money will come, we must be able to clarify that before Christmas, he says to TV 2.
The government is also working on measures to meet other groups.
– What schemes and mechanisms we will use, we are working on now. We will come to the Storting with this shortly, says Støre NRK.
– There are many with ordinary incomes who are also hit hard by this, which we must help now.
