Jakarta –
A number of energy commodities, such as Pertalite and Solar Oil (BBM), 3 kilograms (kg) LPG, and electricity tariffs are signaling an increase. This was announced ahead of Eid 2022 in response to the increase in world crude oil prices.
“There are several strategic steps in dealing with rising world oil prices that we will take both in the short and long term,” said Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif in a working meeting with Commission VII DPR RI, Wednesday (13/4/2022).
In the working meeting, Arifin explained his strategy in dealing with the impact of rising world crude oil prices which helped raise the Indonesian crude oil price (ICP) in March to reach US$ 98.4 per barrel, far above the assumption of the APBN which was only US$ 63 per barrel. Here are the steps:
1. Electricity Tariff
Arifin explained that for the electricity sector in 2022, there will be an adjustment in electricity rates. In this way, the government can save compensation of Rp. 7-16 trillion.
“In the electricity sector, in the short term, the plan for implementing a tariff adjustment in 2022 is to save compensation of Rp. 7 to Rp. 16 trillion,” he said.
In addition to the tariff adjustment plan, in the short term the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will also implement efficiency in the basic costs of electricity supply and PLN’s primary energy strategy, optimizing power plants with domestic sources of fuel for PLTU and PLT EBT, accelerating the construction of 450 MW Rooftop PLTS, as well as the construction of EBT power plants from the APBN. .
The price of 3 kg LPG to Pertalite is planned to increase. Check the next page.
