Due to a fire in an electricity house on Victorieplein in Zuid, 4,100 households were in the dark for part of the evening. Around 10 p.m., almost all households had power again.
The fire started around 8:30 p.m. The power also went out around that time. Grid operator Liander said that he had first received a notification of the power outage. Liander was then informed of the fire by the fire brigade.
The fire brigade was present with several vehicles and officers had cordoned off the area. The cause of the fire is still unknown and is still being investigated.
Not only residents, but also GVB travelers were affected. Tram 4 was running due to the power outage a shorter route.
