The lowering of 2022 bill prices communicated by Arera is the first in 18 months: but how much less will you pay for electricity and gas? It is the Energy Decree (n. 17/2022) that has allocated the necessary resources for this intervention on the users, allowing a reduction of the bill for almost 30 million families and 6 million businesses.
Specifically, explains Money.it, the price of the electricity bill falls by 10.2%, while that of gas falls by 10%. The rates communicated by Arera will be valid for the next quarter, therefore from April to June, and will be applied to those users who are part of the market for greater protection. But how much you save on bills from now to June?
The reference price of electricity (on which system charges have been zeroed) will be 41.34 euro cents per kilowatt hour, including taxes: energy supply costs fall, while expenditure for transport and management of the meter.
The price of natural gas will be 123.62 euro cents per cubic meter, again including taxes: the cost of procurement and related activities will drop, together with system charges.
As president Arera Stefano Besseghini explains in an interview with Money.it, the prices of electricity and gas will remain high for the next two years: “The forward prices of energy products foreshadow a gradual recovery of the crisis between the end of 2022 and 2024 but, presumably, natural gas prices are destined to remain higher than the historical average of recent years. “
