Air Canada is looking for a dynamic individual to fill a permanent full-time position as an Electrician – Facilities Maintenance at Toronto Airport.

  • The candidate is responsible for preventative maintenance and repair requests made through the Facilities work order system.
  • Install, maintain and repair plant and industrial equipment and related electrical and electronic controls.
  • Consult and interpret assembly plans and electrical diagrams as well as the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components to verify operation.
  • Maintain, repair, test and install electric motors, generators, industrial fork truck batteries and electric hydraulic and pneumatic device control systems.
  • Manage the preventive maintenance program for motorized and non-motorized ground equipment
  • Install, maintain and calibrate industrial instruments and related devices.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Industrial electrician who has completed the Interprovincial Standards Red Seal program
  • At least five years of work experience in the field
  • Passing the pre-employment exam
  • Proven talent for oral and written communication
  • Ability to maintain a customer-focused attitude in a very demanding work environment
  • Team spirit
  • Availability to work days, but also weekends and holidays
  • Availability for travel and possession of a valid passport
  • Employees in this safety-critical position must meet Air Canada’s medical requirements to be eligible. Applicants will be subject to medical evaluation including drug and alcohol testing and must not be under the influence of intoxicants
  • Vaccination against COVID-19 required.
