Volkswagen has started to deliver the fully electric ID.3. In the Netherlands, this immediately results in the first place in the October sales list. A total of 2,789 units were registered. Total sales of 31,988 copies were 5.3 percent lower than in the same period a year earlier, BOVAG, RAI Association and data provider RDC report Monday.
This year, 280,213 new passenger cars were registered up to and including October, compared to 364,521 in the first ten months of last year. This means that sales are 23.1 percent behind the volume of 2019. The trade associations expect that this year will be closed with 350,000 new vehicles compared to 446,000 in 2019.
Volkswagen was the list leader in the Netherlands in October with 4,989 new registrations. Toyota follows at an appropriate distance with 2,366 copies, just like Kia. The French brands Peugeot and Renault complete the top five.
The most registered model in October was the electric Volkswagen ID.3 with 2,789 units. Available as a hybrid, plug-in hybrid and all-electric car, the KIA Niro finished in second place with 1,198 units. The other vehicles in the top five in October were the Toyota Yaris, Opel Corsa and Hyundai KONA.
