Jakarta –
After nearly six years of waiting, Electric Vespa finally getting closer to Indonesia. In fact, PT Piaggio Indonesia (PID) confirmed that the electric scooter will launch this year. What is the approximate selling price?
The assurance that the Vespa Elettrica will enter Indonesia this year was conveyed by the PR & Communications Manager of PT PID, Ayu Hapsari. He said the new product was not only introduced in Indonesia, but was sold directly to consumers.
“Elettrica was launched this year. We didn’t just introduce it, we immediately sold it,” said Ayu Hapsari when met at Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.
Ayu is not sure whether Elettrica will be available as a regular product or limited in Indonesia. This is because there has been no official information received from the principal. Not only that, he also could not divulge the selling price.
“There’s still no price, because it hasn’t launched yet in Indonesia,” he said.
The Vespa Elettrica has previously launched in Europe and the United States. Elettrica costs up to IDR 120 million in the two regions. If we refer to that number, it is not impossible that the price of Elettrica in Indonesia is in the range of Rp. 100 million.
Moreover, according to rumors circulating, the Vespa electric motorbike will indeed not be priced cheaply. This is supported by the fact that the price of the cheapest Vespa scooter in Indonesia is currently Rp. 45 million.
It is known that the Vespa Elettrica was launched for the first time at the EICMA Milan exhibition, Italy in 2017. The vehicle is the manufacturer’s first electric motorcycle to be sold globally.
In appearance, the Vespa Elettrica is similar to the Primavera sold in Indonesia. It’s just that the manufacturer covered it with a distinctive electric motorbike color, namely a combination of silver and light blue accents. However, there is also a bright red color.
The Vespa Elettrica, which is circulating in the global market, comes in several variants, namely Standard and RED. The standard Vespa Elettrica itself is further divided into two speed options: 45 km/hour and 70 km/hour. Meanwhile, the RED variant comes with three speed options: 25 km/hour, 45 km/hour and 70 km/hour.
The Vespa electric motor uses a battery with a capacity of 4.2 kWh with a maximum distance of 100 km. The battery requires 4 hours of charging time to be fully charged. Meanwhile, the power is 4 KW or the equivalent of 5.3 horsepower.
