Have already forgotten the show car Mitsubishi e-Evolution three years ago? Remember by looking at these images. Because, judging by the reports of the Japanese press, in 2021 it will turn into a serial crossover! The revival of the legendary Evolution name has yet to be confirmed, but the overall concept of the car will remain the same as that of the 2017 show model.
It will be a coupe-like crossover with a squat body and a branded “X-face”, and an abundance of displays is expected in the cabin. Of course, compared to the concept, the angle of inclination of the roof pillars will change (they will become more vertical), there will be central roof pillars, and the rear doors will normally open forward.
The concept had three electric motors (one in the front and two in the back), but the production electric car will be twin-engined (one on each axle). Apparently, the future Mitsubishi crossover will become the closest relative of the already presented model Nissan Ariya… They will have a common modular CMF-EV platform. The most powerful Ariya Performance has 394 hp electric motors. and 600 Nm, such a crossover can accelerate to “hundreds” in 5.1 seconds. Perhaps Mitsubishi will even have these parameters “hotter”. The future crossover should appear on sale in the fall of 2021.
