electric and petrol, everything we know about the new model – Corriere.it

The appointment is set for 2024: “The new Throw Ypsilon will be completely different in content, design and technology». This is assured by Luca Napolitano, CEO of Lancia since 2021, who is working with his team on the rebirth of the Italian brand (Stellantis group). Three new models are expected over the next six years: Ypsilon, a flagship and the new Delta. The new Ypsilon will change its architecture and could become a B-segment crossover (about 4.1 meters in length).

Electric or petrol

The electrification of all models is essential for being on the market today. Indeed, to see well the new Ypsilon, which will be produced in Spain, will be the first 100% electric Lancia and the latest proposal also in a petrol version. The multiple propulsive offer should be possible thanks to the use of the group’s eCmp platform, the same, so to speak, which is the basis of Jeep Avenger, Opel Mocha And peugeot 2008. The models that will follow will be a flagship in 2026 that could be called Flavia or Flaminia and in 2028 the new Lancia Delta, both offered only 100% electric.

Collaboration with Cassina for the interiors

On all Lancia models, starting with the Ypsilon, particular attention will be paid to the interior. Minimalism and elegance are the guiding themes for the style of the passenger compartment, promised by the designers led by the head of design Jean-Pierre Ploué. For this reason, Lancia has announced a partnership with Cassina, the luxury fashion and furniture company founded in Meda in 1927. The two brands will research and will present their first common project at the next Milan Design Week which will be held from 17 to 23 April 2023. On this occasion we will see the first concrete products of their collaboration and, probably, a concept car that will anticipate the next Lancia Ypsilon.
