New from 1 September 2024: Reservation requirement for international trains ends
From September 1, 2024, the reservation requirement for international train journeys will change. Anyone who wanted to travel abroad by train in the summer months needed a reservation on almost all long-distance train connections – that is now over. The temporary requirement to book a fixed seat ends on September 1. The railway had introduced the requirement due to the expected high demand for the European Football Championship in June. Only the reservation requirement between Munich and Zurich still applies until October 5 inclusive.
The end of September is the deadline for final settlements for Corona aid
Recipients of state Corona economic aid have until the end of September to submit their final accounts. These are necessary to compare the grants originally requested with those to which the applicants are actually entitled. This could lead to additional payments or repayments.
Receipts for heating subsidies can be submitted from next month
As planned, from the end of September 2024, the first group of applicants for the KfW heating subsidy will be able to submit the invoices and receipts for projects for which they have applied for a grant. This change works digitally. Among the first to be allowed to submit the application in February are owners of single-family homes who use the house themselves. After the documents have been checked, the money will be paid out, probably for the first time at the end of October, according to a spokeswoman for the state development bank KfW.
