A new coalition began to be born in Ústí nad Labem. Unlike the situation four years ago, it should include the winner of the election – the YES movement by Prime Minister Andrej Babiš. But it won’t be that easy yet.
–
Representatives of YES met with the ODS and the Mayors movement on Sunday afternoon. In the council, they might have a comfortable majority of 32 out of 55 seats.
–
“The shift is that we are negotiating in threes,” said the head of Ústí nad Labem ANO and MP Jan Richter, who is also part of the negotiating team.
–
“So far, the consensus is on the governor,” Richter added. This could become the deputy and leader of the candidate Jan Schiller.
–
Schiller announced on Saturday after the announcement of the election results that he would end up in the Chamber of Deputies in such a case. Zdeněk Plecitý would replace him.
–
“In principle, I think that an agreement on this format is possible and would be a reasonable and stable compromise for the Ústí nad Labem region in the current numbers in the council, but no agreement has yet been agreed,” said Mayor leader Filip Ušák.
–
Representatives of the three parties should meet again on Tuesday afternoon, according to Schiller.
–
They talked together on Sunday about the composition of the council. According to the information in the Message List, there are three variants. The YES movement would like to have six seats on the council, three for the ODS and two for the Mayors.
–
Negotiations could get stuck on that. “It is a problem for us that YES has a majority in the council,” said Ušák.
–
The other two variants include five seats for YES, four for the ODS and two for the Mayors. The last possibility is that the Civic Democrats and Mayors would have three seats on the council each and YES five.
–
But in the end, the situation could turn out differently. According to the List of News, representatives of YES also met with the Allies for the region on Sunday. They won four seats in the election.
