“Election Victory Celebration Turns into Violent Brawl in Silistrensko”

On election day in Silistrensko, the vote became the cause of a fight between two political camps, as well as the intervention of the police. Two hours after the end of the election day, a group from GERB celebrated an election victory in the center of the village of Poroino.

Because of the loud noise from the celebration, the chairwoman of the Sectional Commission sent the policeman on duty to ask the company for silence. In this company, there was even her husband and main actor – Ergun Feyzi, who is an activist of GERB and the organizer of the celebration after the contested victory.

The footage shows the policeman on duty walking and talking to Feizi when the party activist suddenly descends on the village mayor.

“Suddenly, he was shouting, screaming and grabbed me by the throat. And he was swearing. Whether from the alcohol – I can’t say anything. I also wonder why?”, says Hakko Ahmed – mayor of Poroino village.

The tension in the center of Poroyno village escalated within minutes. From the video footage, it can be seen how quickly many people from both camps gather. More than 20 people were involved in the brawl, and it could have been much bigger than just grabbing the throat.

The teams of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are two policemen who barely keep the camps of GERB and DPS from fighting further.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the incident, clarifying that because of it, three more police officers were later dispatched, who ended the conflict. The 52-year-old man was initially taken to the town hall in the village of Poroino, and then to Dulovo, he was warned not to disturb public order, after which he returned home.

From that moment on, RU-Dulovo did not receive any reports of violations of public order in the settlement. There were no injuries or arrests in the accident. No proceedings have been initiated.
