Election Results: Mike Spano Wins 4th Term as Yonkers Mayor, and Other NYC Housing Updates

Mike Spano won a new re-election as mayor of Yonkers and will assume an unprecedented fourth term. “We did it, Yonkers,” he expressed through the social network X.

After 11:00 at night, he maintained a lead of 61.8% (2,232) over the Republican candidate Anthony J. Merante (1,382 votes).

“Thank you to my family, supporters, volunteers and most of all the voters. I feel honored and privileged to have once again been entrusted with the direction of the city I love. Let’s continue this renaissance in the city of Yonkers together,” Mike wrote Spanish.

Republican Kristy Marmorato wins in the 13th district of the Bronx

With almost 99% of the votes counted, on Tuesday night, Marmorato maintained a 6% advantage over current councilor Marjorie Velázquez, who becomes the only councilor who has lost his re-election

In addition, Marmorato achieves the first Republican victory in the 13th district in 20 years. The last person who had obtained the position in the Bronx was Guy Vellela, in 2004.
