The coordinator of OM Asyrmaton Agios Dimitrios filed a complaint with the Police Department of Agios Dimitrios for the violent incident that occurred earlier, during the election process for the nomination of delegates to SYRIZA.
The violent attack on his face resulted in his wife calling the police to the site where the elections are held.
According to his complaint, the episode was orchestrated to remove him from the position of chairman of the election committee, and involved persons allegedly close to another internal party trend.

I inform you that today, Saturday, November 2, 2024, during the process of electing delegates and while all the members of the electoral committee were present, a methodical episode was created with the purpose of the targeted removal of me as president of the electoral committee by an oral decision of the KOES.
More specifically, suddenly a member of the committee, Ms. Diana Michalopoulou, deputy member of the electoral committee and member of the KE, started shouting “Vangelis threw an envelope in” causing panic in the room and upsetting the process which had been running smoothly until that moment. .
Outside the polling station, there were members of the gang close to the particular one and they entered and took the forms of the electoral process abusively. In particular, the deputy coordinator of OM Gianna Constantinou and a candidate for congress rushed at me with vulgar insults. and grabbed the election documents from the table. When I tried to take the documents from her, I was attacked by her father grabbing me by the neck as well as other people and then other comrades intervened to avoid the worst.
My wife, fearing for my life, called the police, who arrived a quarter of an hour later and recorded the incident. Also came the NE coordinator Aris Varelas who announced to me that by order of the CEEC I am being deposed as president of the Electoral Committee and Ms. Diana Michalopoulou is taking my place. He also forbade me to be near the polling station.
I complain that the whole scene was a staged provocation in order to appoint Diana Michalopoulou, who created the scene, as president of the Electoral Commission.
The electoral committee was appointed by decision of the Coordinating Committee because only two vacancies had been declared at the General Assembly and the remaining members were filled by members of the Coordinating Committee of the OM.
