On election day in Silistren the vote became the cause of a fight between two political camps, as well as for police intervention.
Two hours after the end of election day a group from GERB celebrated in the center of the village of Poroino electoral victory. Due to the loud noise from the celebration, the chairwoman of the Sectional Commission sent the police officer on duty to ask the company to be quiet. In this company was even her husband and main actor – Ergun Feyzi, who is an activist of GERB and organizer of the celebration after the disputed victory. The footage shows the police officer on duty walking and talking to Feizi when the party activist suddenly descends on the village mayor.
“Suddenly he shouted, screamed and grabbed me by the throat. And he was swearing. Whether from the alcohol – I can’t say anything. I also wonder why?” said Hakke Ahmed – mayor of Poroino village.
The tension in the center of the village of Poroyno escalated in minutes. The videos show how quickly many people from both camps gather. They get involved in the fight more than 20 people. The teams of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are two policemen who barely keep the camps of GERB and DPS from fighting further.
The Ministry of the Interior confirmed the incident, explaining that they were later because of it three more police officers sent, which are preestablished conflict.
The 52-year-old activist was taken initially to the town hall in the village of Poroino, and then to Dulovo, is warned not to disturb public order, after which he returned to his home.
From that moment on, RU-Dulovo did not receive any reports of violations of public order in the settlement. There were no injuries or arrests in the accident. No proceedings have been initiated.
