The polling stations in Auckland and Christchurch in New Zealand opened their doors to those wishing to vote in the National Assembly elections at exactly 22:00 Bulgarian time tonight (7:00 local time on 11 July 2021). This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These are the first two sections abroad in which the election day began.
Two hours after New Zealand, voting in Australia begins. Due to the time difference, the election day abroad will end at the latest in San Francisco, USA – at 6:00 Bulgarian time on Monday, July 12, 2021.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminds that Bulgarian citizens abroad can exercise their right to vote in 68 countries in 782 polling stations, 69 percent more than the elections on April 4, 2021. The largest number of polling stations in the UK – 135, Germany – 115, Turkey – 112, Spain – 67, USA – 58, Greece – 32 sections.
Our compatriots can vote in different parts of the world – from Tokyo in Japan and Surgut in Siberia in Russia, through Nigeria and the Republic of South Africa, to Bavaro in the Dominican Republic and Argentina.
