A tragedy, the causes of which are still largely to be ascertained, was discovered today in Cassina Valsassina, in the province of Lecco. A 70-year-old woman, Margherita Colombo, lost her life in circumstances not currently known. The old woman was found dead in her home, while her dying son was rescued and taken to hospital in desperate conditions. It was the victim’s daughter-in-law who made the tragic discovery and raised the alarm, having reached her mother-in-law’s house after finding an alarming note from her husband. The carabinieri of the provincial command intervened on site. In the note released by the Lecco Prosecutor’s Office on what happened today in Cassina Valsassina, it speaks of “health checks necessary to establish the causes of the illness” suffered by the victim’s son. Which would lead to excluding obvious signs of violence. But the investigations are still ongoing.
The man, Corrado Paroli, is the son-in-law of Stefano Galli, a historic exponent of the Northern League, who died in October 2021 and was involved at the time in the so-called “Rimborsopoli” investigation.
