Honey with onions and garlic is a deadly combination of cold and flu viruses. Honey acts as an anti-inflammatory, calming the throat and relaxing the bronchial muscles, and onions and garlic have antibiotic and antiseptic properties. They prepare excellent natural syrups for the throat. Mix a cup of honey with 100 ml of water, then add a peeled and finely chopped onion, plus two grated garlic cloves. Leave everything overnight at room temperature, strain the next day and consume the syrup.

Chicken soup is a natural remedy recognized by researchers as having antiviral properties. It contains anti-inflammatory agents, clears the nose, soothes coughs and is a real throat bandage.
Poultices are other remedies for the elderly for sore throats. You may remember how your mother or grandmother would put a piece of gauze around your neck overnight to wrap grated potatoes, coarse salt, cabbage leaves, or simply a well-sprinkled cloth with vinegar. By morning, the pain had improved considerably. Against cough and bronchitis, a poultice of cow’s cheese was made (at room temperature, slightly warmed), which was left to act for 1-2 hours.
Gargle with water and salt disinfect the throat and keep it hydrated. You need a tablespoon of salt dissolved in a glass of warm water. They are done 4-5 times a day.
Black radish syrup works wonders for coughs and sore throats. Dig up a radish, fill it with honey and leave it overnight near a heat source (eg on the radiator). Gather a syrup from which you take a teaspoon 3-4 times a day.

Carrot juice is very good against bronchial diseases and gets rid of coughs if you take 3 teaspoons of it daily. You need a cup of freshly squeezed juice, mixed with 3 tablespoons of honey and a little water.
