Elderly man killed in the Como area had argued with the arrested man

(ANSA) – COMO, 23 OCTOBER – The 17-year-old boy arrested for the murder of Candido Montini, killed on 24 September in Catasco (Como), had argued with the victim the day before because he had refused to change 300 euros for him , clearly false. Montini, 76 years old, owner of a small grocery store, had realized that the money was not good and had reported it to some acquaintances, telling them to be careful of that boy. The detail that emerged in these hours, but immediately known to the investigators, could be important for reconstructing the dynamics of what happened on September 24th in the small village in the mountains of Lake Como. The boy is in custody because his biological traces were found on the murder weapon, a steel kitchen knife, not owned by the victim, abandoned a few tens of meters from the crime scene. For now, the young man has always denied any responsibility: the alibi reported by his family for his absence that afternoon for the motorbike driving school lessons, in reality would not be considered sufficient, because it still leaves open a large time gap in which the crime could have been committed.
