As part of the public policies promoted by the management of Minister Luis Medina Ruiz, this Saturday the immunization of the elderly who reside in this home was carried out.
In this regard, the attorney Sandra Ibanez in charge of the Vaccination Brigade and the Family Vaccinator, said that they are in the Cottolengo Don Orioneending the immunization circuit in adult homes, ending the year with the application of vaccines against Covid, flu and pneumococcal.
“The goal is to have our older adults up to date with the vaccination schedule so that when we return next year we update the flu vaccines. The importance of visiting these places is that here we can provide care to many people who live in vulnerable situations,” he highlighted.
And he added: “The Ministry wants all our older adults to have the complete vaccination schedule so that they are prevented and cared for. We know that thanks to vaccines there are many diseases that are prevented and also their complications.”
In turn, the Father Damián Eduardo Picone, Religious Director of Cottolengo Don Orione, expressed: “With everything we had to go through during the time of the pandemic, receiving a vaccine is a blessing that allows us to be cared for and protected. That is something that we have always felt from the Ministry of Health more in those times that were really crucial and important.”
For his part, the person in charge of Institutional Relations of Cottolengo, doctor Ivan Silvasaid he was very happy and grateful to the vaccination team and the Minister of Health, Dr. Luis Medina Ruiz.
“Throughout the pandemic they were accompanying us, advising us, giving permanent assistance and the truth is that we only have words of gratitude left. Today we know that we must not let our guard down, take extreme care and be attentive to the protocols since these viruses are very changing and dynamic, so we must be attentive to the new paradigms that are emerging,” he concluded.
