Mrs. Van de Werdt thought it was time for her precious tapestry, or ‘gobelin’ as she preferred to call it, to be given a new home. She herself is going to live smaller and has no more space. At the time, she managed to get the rug for 30,000 euros. Wanting to err on the side of caution, she decided to value it.
This showed that the carpet originated from the 17th century. Ms Van de Werdt wants to receive at least 16,000 euros for it on this basis, but the experts of the program doubt whether the tapestry is really that antique.

Arnold in particular is quite certain: the rug is not from the 17th, but from the 19th century, he claims. And that of course does not benefit the value. He comes up with the solution: the lady can get 750 euros if it turns out that it comes from the 19th century, or Arnold gives her 6000 euros if it turns out that it is indeed a 17th century design.
To determine this, they visit an expert together. And unfortunately: the rug was indeed made in the 19th century. Mrs. Van de Werdt, who wanted to use the proceeds to sponsor her grandchildren, therefore ultimately decides not to sell the rug.
